Head Trauma: A Discussion of Concussion

Megan Steele DVM, DACVIM

Dr. Megan Stout Steele received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation Dr. Steele completed a small animal rotating internship at the Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in Westboro, MA and then a specialty neurology internship at the Animal Specialty Group in Los Angeles, CA. In 2015 she completed her neurology residency at the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine and became a Diplomat of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. She worked at Animal Speciality Group in Los Angeles, CA as a neurologist until early 2017 when she moved to the Portland area. Her special areas of interests include neurosurgery and Chiari-like malformation. In her spare time, Dr. Steele enjoys spending time with her three dogs, horseback riding, and hiking. 



Ocular Trauma: What is (and isn't) better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick

Rosalie Atkins DVM, DACVO

Dr. Atkins received a Bachelor of Science Degree at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. She spent her last semester aboard Voyager, a ship for the Semester at Sea program, circumnavigatig the globe to allow firsthand experience of cultural and humanitarian issues. She then received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Tennessee. After graduating from veterinary school, Dr. Atkins completed a private practice internship in small animal medicine, surgery and emergency services at the Veterinary Specialty Hospital in San Diego, California, followed by a three-year private practice veterinary ophthalmology residency program in Annapolis, Maryland. Dr. Atkins then completed 3 years in private practice in Northern
California, becoming a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists.
