Oregon Animal Abuse Laws and a Veterinarian's Duty to Report Aggravated Animal Abuse

You are invited to participate in an informative one hour legal webinar designed for veterinarians. During the hour, you will learn about Oregon’s animal abuse and neglects laws  and what does and does not constitute a felony. You will also and have the opportunity to understand your duty to report aggravated animal abuse through a legal lens, what that means in a practical sense and how to easily comply with the law.

Kristen Farnworth started her legal career at the University of Oregon School of Law and there she became a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteer.  After graduation she clerked for a judge then joined the Oregon Department of Justice as an Assistant Attorney General in 2001.  In 2014, she left the AG’s office to join the Benton County District Attorney’s office as a Senior Deputy District Attorney assigned to child abuse cases.  Recently, she joined the Oregon Humane Society and is excited to make a difference in the protection of animals.  She is also an active member of the Oregon State Bar Juvenile Law Section and adores her 4 dogs, turtle and horse.
